Margurete E. “Maggie” Clothier, 81, Springville, died Wednesday, August 8, 2007, at her son’s home in Hobbs, New Mexico, following a long illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2007, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by Rev. John Keizer. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial: Springville Cemetery.
Survivors include her children, Glenn Clothier of Hobbs, New Mexico, William (Lena) Clothier of Yuma, Arizona, Jack (Cheryl) Clothier of Springville, Del Clothier of Hobbs, New Mexico, Jerry (Becky) Clothier of Hobbs, New Mexico, and Becky (Dennis) Latham of Springville; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers; two sisters; and two grandchildren.
Margurete was born January 8, 1926, the daughter of Frank and Nellie (Kamerling) Brown in Mt. Vernon. She married William J. Clothier December 20, 1952, in Indiana. He died in 1993. Margurete retired from Rockwell Collins where she had worked for several years.
Margurete was an avid bingo and card player and enjoyed gardening. She crocheted many afghans for her family.
Margurete was a member of Springville American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 331.
