Margie A. Main, 75, passed away peacefully, Saturday, August 9, 2014, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House, Hiawatha, Iowa. A private memorial service will be held. Inurnment: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Curtis (Linda Felton) Main of Independence, Iowa, Tony (Christina) Main of Quasqueton, Iowa, Gail (David) Barker of Louisburg, Kansas, and Aron (Vicki) Main of Galena, Illinois; ten grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and a sister, Shirley (Melvin) German of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Evelyn Feally.
Margie was born July 9, 1939, the daughter of Evlon and Ethel (Wall) Schanbeck, in Rowley, Iowa. On January 1, 1960, she married John Main and lived in Independence, Iowa, where they raised their four children. They later divorced and Margie moved to Cedar Rapids. Margie loved children and was a nanny for 20 years.
