Margaret M. Talbott, 85, of the West Ridge Care Center, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died there Thursday, January 4, 2007, following a sudden illness. Services: 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 9, 2007, at Salem United Methodist Church, Cedar Rapids. The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, January 8, 2007, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Linwood Cemetery.
Survivors include her son, Larry (Marie) Talbott of San Antonio, Texas; daughter, Vickie Stolba of Shueyville, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Angie (Carl) Stahle, Jeremy (Trish) Stolba, Tone Talbott, Emily (Pete) Meyer, Nathianel Talbott, Molly Talbott, Cassie Talbott and Sam Talbott. Also surviving are twelve great grandchildren, Peyton and Mason Stahle, Sydney and Dain Stolba, Keegan Talbott, Kaleb Fillenworth, Mariah, Maggie Malone-Talbott, Hailey, Payton and Parker Meyer and Elija Talbott-Sagner; one sister, Dorothy McCrory of Cedar Rapids; one brother-in-law, Delbert (Josephine) Talbott of Cedar Rapids; and special niece and nephew, Linda and John Drzymski.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Nellie Gearkee; her husband of 50 years, Marvin; and a sister, Martha Scott.
Margaret was born January 11, 1921, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Nellie (Williams) Gearkee. She graduated from Roosevelt High School and on August 4, 1946, she married Marvin Coble Talbott. Margaret worked for Killians, Armstrongs and Barlows.
Margaret was a volunteer at St. Luke?s Hospital for more than 15 years.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Margaret?s memory.
