Margaret M. Post, 97, of 1681 8th St., died Thursday, November 2, 2006, at Winslow House Care Center in Marion from complications of cancer. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 6, 2006, at First Presbyterian Church of Marion by Rev. Dr. Howard Chapman and Rev. Julie Anderson Schuett. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Sunday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. Graveside Service: 2:00 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley (Tony) Pantini of Marion and Barbara (Larry) Jones of Custer, South Dakota; six grandchildren, Kimberly (Phil) Lorenz, Matthew (Tricia) Jones, Andrew (Lorilynne) Pantini, Amy (Dwight) Hubbard, Wayne (Deb) Pantini and Terry (T.J.) Pantini; and eight great-grandchildren, Kirsten, Cody, Kyle, and Collin Lorenz, Meghen and Dakota Jones, and Sydney and Emma Pantini.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings, Donald, Delbert, Bernice, and Dorothy Lassen.
Margaret was born October 29, 1909, the daughter of Andrew and Jessie (Oxley) Lassen in Marion. On October 29, 1934, she married Eldon C. Post in Springville. He died June 28, 1981, in Cedar Rapids. Margaret was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Marion since 1921.
