Peg was born on November 20, 1925, in Hale, Iowa, the daughter of J.W. Oscar and Margaret Ida (Inglis) Kinler. She was a 1944 graduate of Olin High School and then attended Davenport American Institute of Commerce. On September 2, 1950, Peg was united in marriage to Herbert “Bill” Adams in Davenport, Iowa. The couple was blessed with four children.

Along with raising her family, Peg worked as a teacher’s aide for Tipton Community Schools. She was an amazing seamstress, creating many beautiful quilts as well as wedding gowns, prom and homecoming dresses, and even cheerleading uniforms. Peg had a canny ability to identify birds by their songs. She was a member of the Tipton First United Methodist Church since 1968, where she was active in the women’s circle and was part of the planning committee for the remodel of the church kitchen. Peg served on the Senior Center Dining Board, where she helped with the activities and did monthly decorating. She was one of the 1999 original members of the Cedar County Peacemakers and was also a member of Tri Sigma for over 50 years, the PMS Group, and the Wednesday Sew and Sews. Peg was an avid sports fan, especially cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, St. Louis Cardinals, and Kansas City Chiefs. She enjoyed playing games, going on bus tours, and a good laugh whenever she could. Peg never knew a stranger. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Peg is survived and lovingly remembered by her four children, Molly (Kevin) Lurth of Cedar Rapids, Lori (Dave) Buatte and Andy (Patty) Adams of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and Wes (Steph) Adams of Kansas City, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Erik, Aaron, Mitchell, Trent, Ethan, Logan, and Savannah; and two great-grandchildren, Kinsey and Kyle.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill Adams; sister, Jacqueline Siver; and brother, Julian Kinler.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Peg’s memory may be directed to the Tipton Senior Center.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Summit Pointe and St. Croix Hospice, especially Mom’s caregiver, Aubri, as well as Peg’s neighbors, who looked out for her and helped her over the years.
