Margaret Charlene Maring, 78, a resident of Summit Pointe, Marion, Iowa, went to be with the Lord, Friday, September 18, 2009, at her home. Per Margaret’s wishes, her body has been donated to the University of Iowa’s Anatomical Research Program. Memorial Service: 1 p.m. Saturday, September 26, 2009, at Reece Funeral Home, Ottumwa. Local Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion.
Survivors include her husband, Wallace; her children, Randy (Cindy) Maring of Robins, and Debra (Charles) Voigt of Stillwater, Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren, Miranda, Megan, Jason and Jon, and Nikiah (Alex) and Jared; 1 great-granddaughter, Nadia; a brother, Richard (Mildred) of Davenport; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 5 brothers; and 4 sisters.
Margaret was born November 3, 1930, the daughter of Charles E. and Lillian M. (Lottridge) Haines, in Ottumwa, Iowa. She married Wallace Edwin Maring on March 26, 1949 in Ottumwa, Iowa. She worked as a nurse’s aide at Jane Lamb Hospital in Clinton, Iowa. Margaret enjoyed camping, square dancing, and bridge playing. She also sang in the church choir, played the piano, and enjoyed flower gardening.
