Margaret J. Kruger, 90, a resident of Heritage Nursing & Rehab Center, Cedar Rapids, died there, Saturday, October 26, 2013. Memorial Service: 11:30 a.m. Thursday, October 31, 2013, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. William B. Harnish. The family will greet friends from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at the funeral home. Inurnment: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Dale Kruger of Roseville, MN, Dean (Linda) Kruger of Newhall, IA, and Mary (Bob) Swalley of Rosemont, MN; grandchildren, Adam Swalley, Sara Kruger, Neil (Katy) Kruger, Nick (Ashley) Kruger, and Maggie Kruger; great-grandchildren Jovie, Anna and Livi Kruger; and a brother, Orville (Laura) Duvel of Waukon, IA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon; daughter-in-law, Rose Kruger; sister, Arlene Kugel; and brothers, Lloyd “Tim”, Irvin, and Normal Duvel; and special friend, Harlan Marten.
Margaret was born May 5, 1923, the daughter of Albert and Minnie (Klein) Duvel. On October 10, 1940, she was united in marriage to Vernon C. Kruger. Margaret enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, gardening, old country music, shopping and cooking.
