Margaret D. Holub, 84, a lifelong resident of Central City, died Friday, November 23, 2007 at her home. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2007, at St. Joseph’s Church in Prairieburg by Father Wayne Droessler and Father Richard Kuhn. Friends may call from 4 ?" 8 p.m., Monday, November 26, 2007, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City, Iowa, with a vigil service commencing at 7:00 p.m. Burial: St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Prairieburg.
Survivors include her husband, Leroy; sisters-in-law, Pat Edgerly, Ruth Ann Edgerly, and Esther Stick; and many, many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Elizabeth Price, an identical twin sister, Margery Mysak; six brothers, William, Merle, Max, James, Leo, and Fay.
Margaret was born August 30, 1923, the daughter of Brinard and Emma (Lawrence) Edgerly in Linn County, Iowa. She married Leroy Holub on August 19, 1946, at St. Matthews, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Margaret was the last of the Edgerlys. She was a hairdresser for over 60 years in her own shop in the Central City area. She was a qualified examiner for the “National Certification Examination” and served on many boards for the NCA. She taught classes in all 48 states, including Hawaii and Canada.
