Margaret Henderson Hill, 89, of Alburnett, died Thursday, June 3, 2004, at her home, following a short illness. Memorial Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2004, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by Rev. Dan Peterson. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. As per Margaret's wishes, her body has been cremated. Private inurnment at Coggon Cemetery.

She is survived by a daughter, Janis (Frank) Ramsey of Scottsdale, Arizona; two sons, James of Alburnett and Duane of Cedar Rapids; a granddaughter, Teri (Dan) Miller of Lockport, Illinois; two grandsons, Scott (Doloras) Hill of Lockport, Illinois and Brian Ohrt of Irving, Texas; a great-grandson, Jake Hill of Lockport, Illinois; two brothers, Bob (Darlene) Henderson of Coggon and Jim (Marge) Henderson of Toddville; sisters-in-law, Nadine Swanson of Coggon and Shirley (Chuck) Hollan of Cedar Rapids; brother-in-law, Henry Wagner of Cedar Rapids; several nieces and nephews; and her special friend, Mary Hill of Iowa City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother, Ralph Arthur; her husband, Harold; and a son John A.

Margaret was born the daughter of Arthur and Mabel (Drexler) Henderson on July 23, 1914, at Grandview Farm, Coggon. She graduated from Coggon High School in 1932 and from Cedar Rapids Business College in 1935. On March 20, 1938, she married Harold R. Hill at First Presbyterian Church in Waterloo. He died October 4, 1970. She worked at Younkers, Dows Maniti Dairy and Sears, retiring from Telephone Sales at Sears in 1982. She was a member of the Alburnett Methodist Church, Marion Chapter of the Eastern Star, Alburnett Senior Citizens, Charter member of Alburnett Historical Society and the Breakfast Bunch. Her interests include roses, perennial flowers, family genealogy, history of Alburnett, sewing and embroidery.

Margaret was a good neighbor, loyal friend and devoted parent. She will be greatly missed by all who shared her life.

The family kindly suggests that no flowers be sent. Instead, a memorial fund has been established in Margaret?s memory.
