Margaret L. Henecke, 91, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Sunday, November 17, 2013, at Meth-Wick Community, Cedar Rapids. Services: 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2013, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Family will greet friends from 12 until service time on Saturday, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Cathy (Harry) Hardman of Cedar Rapids, and Charles “Chuck) Henecke of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; eight grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and brothers, William Filson of Cedar Rapids, and Jim Kirby of Kingsport, TN; and son-in-law, Edward Ray of Springfield, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer Henecke; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; daughter, Carolyn Ray; and sister, Dorothy Salow and Pauline Hadenfeldt.
Margaret was born on October 5, 1922, daughter of Paul and Virgie (Weaver) Filson. She worked at Rockwell Collins for over 23 years. Margaret married Elmer Henecke on August 18, 1941, he later passed in 1973. She was a member of the Holy Redeemer Church in Cedar Rapids.
