Margaret T. Gross (Hovanec)

Margaret T. Gross, 95, a resident of Hallmark Care Center in Mt. Vernon, formerly of Parma Heights, OH, died at the care center on Wednesday, January 15, 2014. Funeral Mass: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 1, 2014, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Mt. Vernon. There will be no visitation. Private family inurnment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brook Park, OH at a later date. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion.
Survivors include her son, Jim (Connie) Gross of Marion; and two granddaughters, Emily Gross of Orlando, FL, and Rachel Gross of Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, John Gross, who died in June of 1987.
Margaret was born October 7, 1918, in Smithfield, PA, the daughter of Stephen and Stephine (Hayrus) Hovanec. She married John Gross in Barnsborough, PA, in 1948. Margaret was a devoted Catholic homemaker who loved her family and enjoyed playing cards.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Margaret’s memory.
