Margaret M. Conner, 62, of 5630 Cornell Street SW, died Saturday, August 30, 2003, in her home, following a short illness. Services: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2003, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, September 1, 2003. Burial: Baker Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, John; her children, John and Jackie Conner of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Barbara and Mark Burkhalter of Marion, Iowa, Lynda and Joe Armstrong and Anne and Ken Buehner, all of Cedar Rapids and James Conner of Springfield, Missouri; 21 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia and Jobie Atwater of Cedar Rapids and Barbara Blattner of Marion; a brother, Charles Shaffer of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Marvin; two infant children; two granddaughters, Caitlin and Margaret; and twin grandsons, Jonathan and Joseph.
Margaret was born August 1, 1941, the daughter of Russel and Elizabeth Errington Shaffer, in Walker, Iowa. On May 21, 1960, she was united in marriage to John Conner in Bolivar, Missouri. Margaret was a homemaker who was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in memory of Margaret.
