Marcia Mensen
June 18, 1952 — January 31, 2006
Marcia Mensen, 53, of Urbana, formerly of Springville, died Tuesday, January 31, 2006, at her home, following a long illness. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 3, 2006, at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Urbana by Father Gabriel Anderson. Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. Thursday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion where a rosary will begin at 5 p.m. Burial: St. Mary?s Catholic Cemetery in Urbana.
Survivors include her husband, Dan of Urbana; her children, Mark (Becky) Mensen of Joplin, Missouri, Mitchell (Kendra) Mensen of Urbana and Dawn (Dan) Canada of Wichita, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Tucker and Levi Mensen, Joshua, Jesse and Dani Wilson, Jennifer Clevenstine and Robyn Canada.
Also surviving are five brothers and sisters, Maurine (Marvin) Sheppard of Hanover, Illinois, Merle (Pat) Pierce of Cedar Rapids, Wanda (Jimmy) Hansel of Cedar Rapids, Lois (Tom) Thompson of Cedar Rapids and Shirley (Will) Dangler of Yankton, South Dakota.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Marcia was born June 18, 1952, the daughter of Gerald and Ethel (Sutton) Pierce in Manchester. On February 1, 1975, she married Daniel Mensen at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Monticello. Marcia worked at Rockwell Collins for thirty-two years as an assembly operator. She was an avid bowler for thirty years and coached youth bowling. Marcia enjoyed camping and spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren.
