Marcella T "Sally" Naber (Steffen)

Marcella T. “Sally” Naber, 80, died July 9, 2011 at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester.
Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 14, 2011 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester by Rev. John Flaherty. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Manchester where there will be a 2:30 Rosary Service. Additional visitation: one hour before services at the church on thursday. Burial will be at the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Manchester.
Marcella was born January 31, 1931 in New Vienna, the daughter of Al and Mary (Maiers) Steffen. She attended Dubuque County Elementary Schools and earned her GED in 1984. Marcella was united in marriage to Robert F. Naber on October 8, 1952 in Luxemburg, IA. The couple lived in Dyersville and Dundee before settling in Manchester in 1980. Marcella worked as a teacher’s aid at West Delaware Schools from 1982 until 1995.
Marcella was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester and St. Mary Rosary Society. She enjoyed family, grandchildren, her friends, reading and cross-stitching.
Marcella is survived by eight children, Jackie (Tim) Fisher of Denton, TX, Jeff (Cindy) Naber of San Louis Obispo, CA, Vicky (Pat) Kane of Cedar Rapids, Susanne (Mike) Kull of Sioux Falls, SD, Robert D. Naber of Cedar Rapids, Lorie (John) Hoffmann of Manchester, Al (Sharon) Naber of Cedar Rapids and Jean (Marty) Pins of Lake Mills, IA; twenty grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rita Willenbring of Farley and Kay Naber of Winthrop; and a brother, Gene (Kay) Steffen of Farley.
Marcella was preceded in death by her parents, Al & Mary Steffen; husband, Robert F. Naber in March 1995; and three sisters, Aggie Demmer, Ester Bockenstedt, and Dorothy Maiers.
A memorial fund has been established in Sally’s memory.
