Marcella K. “Sally” Reilly, of Shueyville, Iowa, died Sunday, March 12, 2017, at the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa. Memorial Gathering: 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2017, at The Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Burial: Spring Grove Cemetery, Covington, Iowa, at a later date.
Sally is survived by her husband, Tom; beloved dog, Otis; father, Max Sheetz; siblings, Patricia Sheetz, Deb (Bill) Carey, Mike Sheetz, and Becky (Ron) Fort; nieces and nephews, Michelle (Tom) Harbison, Marcy (Andrew) Oberbreckling, Matthew Stauffer (Miranda Vice), Layne (Anna) Sheetz, and Landon Sheetz (Kelsey Otto); great-nieces and nephews, Emme, Brighton, Logan, Caedon, Quint, and Brandon; Goddaughter, Aubrey Hart and her siblings, Sam and Charlie; as well as many other extended family members and close friend, Noy Grady.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Darlene as well as her sister-in-law, and friend, Melissa Sheetz.
Sally was born May 4, 1950, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Max and Darlene (Stover) Sheetz. On July 26, 1969, she married Tom Reilly. Sally worked at Rockwell Collins for 23 years and had recently retired from UIHC in Iowa City. Sally loved life to the fullest. She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially the time with her great-nieces and nephews which were like grandchildren to her and Tom. Sally will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Memorial may be sent to Camp Courageous in Monticello, Iowa or Last Hope Animal Rescue, Cedar Rapids.
