Marcella Pauline "Marcy" Monaghan (Fosdick)

Marcella "Marcy? Monaghan, 89, a resident of Willow Gardens Care Center, died there Monday, October 30, 2006, following a short illness. Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 3, 2006 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion by the Rev. John Gossman. Graveside Services: 2:30 p.m. Friday at Holy Trinity Cemeteries in Keota by Rev. Marty Goetz. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 2, 2006 at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Marion, with a Scripture service at 5 p.m.
Marcy is survived by six children, Joyce (Larry) Hills of Delhi, Mary Lee (Joe) Praetz of Lake Ridge, VA, Kathleen Monaghan of Gurnee, IL, Pat (Lenay) Monaghan of Ramona, CA, Mike (Jerrie) Monaghan of Farson, IA and Tom (Charlene) Monaghan of Mission Viejo, CA; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Gerald Fosdick and Fran (Irene) Fosdick; a sister, Kaye Fulrath; and a sister-in-law, Delores Fosdick.
Marcy was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Janice; granddaughter, Melissa Praetz; grandson, Chris Monaghan; brothers, Richard, Leonard, Donald Fosdick and one in infancy; and a sister, Sr. Anita Fosdick.
Marcy was born December 5, 1916 in Keota, Iowa, the daughter of Charles A. and Eva A. (Palm) Fosdick. On April 17, 1939 Marcy married Eugene Monaghan. He died July 21, 1989. Her faith was important to Marcy and her family was her greatest joy. She enjoyed playing cards.
