Manferd "Manny? Findley, 82, of Central City, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 3, 2003. Services: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 7, 2003, at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Central City, with military rites. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Graveside Committal Services: 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Arlington Cemetery in Villisca, Iowa.

Survivors include three sons, Kirk (Sharon) of Hiawatha, Ron (Bobi) of Cedar Rapids and Marv of Cedar Rapids; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Thelma "Butch? Findley; and a brother, Stan Findley.

He was born February 24, 1920, in Montgomery County, Iowa, to Roy Manferd and Clara Etta Patton Findley. During World War II, he served with the U.S. Navy, and was very proud to have worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps. For forty-two years, Manny worked for Link-Belt (FMC) in Cedar Rapids, until he retired in 1982. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 421 of Central City, AmVets Post No. 37 of Central City, Moose Lodge, V.F.W., and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles for over fifty-five years.

Manny was a very unselfish person, who always gave of his time and talents. He loved his many neighbors and friends. His red ?56 Cadillac was his pride and joy and he enjoyed driving it in local parades. Manny was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Instead of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made to AmVets Post No. 37 in Central City.
