Manda A. Nelson, 94, of Hiawatha Care Center, Hiawatha, formerly of Kingston Hill, died Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at St. Luke?s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a brief illness. Memorial Service: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2005, at Lake Preston Lutheran Church, Lake Preston, South Dakota. Inurnment: Lake Preston Cemetery, Lake Preston. Arrangements with Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her son, Rolland Nelson and daughter-in-law Lila of Atkins; and three grandchildren, Scott Nelson, Cynthia (Mark) Reed, M.D., and Deborah (Ricardo) Newell, all of Phoenix, Arizona
She was preceded in death by a sister, Bernice Kidder Phillips; and four brothers, Clarence, Ernest, Vernon and Hartwick Lee.
Manda was born October 6, 1910, the daughter of Karsten and Christina Hendrickson Lee, in Bradley, South Dakota. On October 6, 1937, she was united in marriage to Hartman Nelson. He died January 11, 2000. Manda was a member of the Lake Preston Lutheran Church in Lake Preston, South Dakota.
