Malcolm Daniel Klopp, 93, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Sunday, October 4, 2015, at Crestview Acres, Marion. Services: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Burial: Czech National Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his step son, Robert (Karen) Trachta of Cedar Rapids; four step-grandchildren, Michael (Angela) Trachta, Julia (Steve) Stover, Charlie (Amy) Trachta, and Scott (Amy) Trachta; eight step-great grandchildren; half-sister, Patricia Owens; and daughter-in-law, Louise Trachta of Tofte, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Margaret Klopp; and a step-son, Larry Trachta.
Malcolm was born on October 19, 1921, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, son of Daniel and Mary (Plunket) Klopp. He served in the United States Navy in WWII in the South Pacific. Malcolm worked at Quaker Oats for 24 years and St. Luke’s Hospital for 34 years as Security and safety officer.
