Maedean Marie O’Connor, 82, a lifelong resident of Central City, and most recently living in Wisconsin, peacefully passed away Monday, May 3, 2010, at Southwest Health Center Nursing Home, Cuba City, Wisconsin. Services: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 8, 2010, at The First United Methodist Church, Central City, Iowa, by Rev. Nick Needham. The family will greet friends from 4 – 7 p.m., Friday, May 7, 2010, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City. Burial: Mt. Clark Cemetery, Central City, Iowa.
Survivors include her children, Dennis (Gaby) O’Connor of Running Springs, California, Calleen Randall of Marion, Elaine (Potter) Dull of Maquoketa, and Erin (Eric) Reinicke of Platteville, Wisconsin; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; 2 step-granddaughters; 3 step-great-grandchildren; a cousin, Betty Henderson of Maquoketa; and her precious cat, Missy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son-in-law, Clay Dull.
Maedean was born June 5, 1927, the daughter of Melvin “Huck” and Jenny (Smith) Bishop, in Central City, Iowa. She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter 183 and the American Legion Auxiliary 421. In the 70’s, Maedean was involved with the Central City Ambulance and later, a driver for the Linn County LIFTS until her retirement. She loved the outdoors and spending time with her family.
