Genevieve Mae Grant High, 70, of 2632 Waveland Dr. NW, Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, February 26, 2005, in her home, following a short illness due to a brain tumor. Services: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Pastor Mark Larson. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, February 28, 2005, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include her loving husband of 45 years, Donald; a daughter, Kimberly (Patrick) Loeffler of Cedar Rapids; two sons, Stephen (Peg Hugaert) High of Vinton and Todd (Karla) High of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren, Brianne (David Kluth), Alyssa and Jordan Loeffler, Brittnee and Noah High; a great-grandchild, Payton James, due in May; a sister, Helen (Allen) Macaulay of Cedar Rapids; and a brother, Gene Clark of Cedar Rapids.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her stepfather, Roy A. Clark.

Genevieve was born July 21, 1934, the daughter of Ralph and Gladys Romig Grant, in Delaware County, Iowa. On May 7, 1960, she was united in marriage to Donald High in Edgewood, Iowa. A homemaker, Genevieve also worked at Rockwell Collins and Montgomery Wards. She was a member of the Edgewood Baptist Church and the Caleb Club at Good News Baptist. Genevieve loved cooking, entertaining family and friends in her home, sewing, home decorating and playing games. She also enjoyed watching birds and Don?s garden.

Instead of flowers, memorials may be made to the Edgewood Baptist Church for the Capital Improvement Fund in memory of Genevieve.
