Mabel I. Turner

Mabel I. Turner, 87, of Living Center West, Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, November 19, 2005, at the care center, following a brief illness. There will be no visitation or services as per Mabel?s wishes. Inurnment will be next to her husband in Sheffield, Iowa, at a later date. Arrangements with Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include a brother, Ralph Laskowski of Grand Island, Nebraska; a sister, Dixie (Tom) Brown of Bella Vista, Arkansas; and her nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Norman (Luella) Davis and their family of Solon, who adopted Mabel as their mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lafe; her parents; two sisters; and two brothers.
Mabel was born December 4, 1917, the daughter of Ted and Ethel Laskowski, in Sheffield, Iowa. On June 11, 1938, she was united in marriage to Lafe Turner in Waterloo, Iowa. Mabel worked at Montgomery Wards and Armstrong Department Stores.
