Darlene was born December 30, 1933, the daughter of Edith Marie Powles and William Hyde Cleaver. She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church, Springville. Darlene lived an interesting life. The stories range from standing on the back of motorcycles while moving as a teenager, to working on cars at the Springville gas station, or her commitment to the safety of the students that rode her school bus. Either way, Darlene had a hard time walking away from the opportunity to help someone. Her judgement was limited, as she always tried to see the positive, even in gloomy times. She often told the story of eating a can of beans for her first wedding anniversary meal, to reiterate that love and perseverance can tackle any situation.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests gifts be directed to someone that you know who could use a helping hand. While she felt she had everything in the world, she always had a special place for those who struggled. She hid numerous stories of hardship, instead proclaiming the success of others.
