Lynn Jacobson, 80, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at Heritage Nursing & Rehab Center, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 4 – 6 p.m. Friday, December 22, 2017, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Service: 1:30 p.m. December 23, 2017, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his children, Kim Hamilton, Konnie Jacobson, Lonnie (Ladonna) Jacobson and Kris (Ed) Mittan all of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Jennifer, Judy, Justin, Megan, Shawn, Ryan, Cameren, Callan, Marty, Sirese, Chelsea, Daulton, Leea and Robby; seven great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and his sister, Faye Nichols of Dallas, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Shepherd) Jacobson; parents, Ernest and Luella Jacobson; and son, Lynn Patrick Jacobson.
Lynn was born on November 5, 1937, in McCalsburg, Iowa, the son of Ernest and Luella (Sampson) Jacobson. He married Patricia Shepherd in 1957, in Nevada, Iowa. Lynn worked for the City of Cedar Rapids until he retired in 2000. He loved country music, camping, Nascar, the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Bears, fishing and tending to his flowers at home.
