Lynnette Kay Calloway, 58, of Marion, died Saturday, November 15, 2014, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 20, 2014, at Faith Lutheran Church, Marion, by Pastors John Albertson and Amy Waelchli. The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Burial: 2:30 p.m. Thursday, November 20, 2014, Wayne Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Monticello.
Survivors include her husband, Michael; son, Travis Calloway of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Mikayla Calloway of Cedar Rapids; father-in-law, George “Mike” Calloway of Anamosa; sister, Sheralyn (Dan) Lahr of Monticello; nephew, Nick (Joni) Lahr of Monticello; niece, Alyssa Lahr of Monticello; aunt, Wilma Stephenson of Cedar Rapids; cousins, Roberta (Dan) Johnson of Marion, and Bryan (Erica) Johnson of California; sister-in-law, Gerri (Mark) Mead of Stanwood; and nephews, Chad Mead of Iowa City, Dillon Mead of Cedar Rapids, and Nick (Nikki) Mead of Robins.
She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Vivian Calloway; and her parents.
Lynne was born June 25, 1956, in Monticello, the daughter of Howard and Arlene (Hayen) Miller. She graduated from Monticello High School, and went on to earn her BA from the American Institute of Business. She was a Project Manager for Stamats in Cedar Rapids. Lynne was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Marion, where she participated in the bell choir and taught Sunday school. She was also a member of the Pinto Association. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, and sewing; she was especially talented at crafting costumes and show clothing for horse shows. Lynne was a cook extraordinaire! She also enjoyed making floral arrangements and cake decorating. Mostly, Lynne loved to be with her family and friends. Whenever Lynne was around, the room would light up with her countenance.
