Lynda L. Bender

Lynda L. Bender, 55, of 2045 A Avenue, Marion, died in her home Monday, December 23, 2002, following a 19 year battle with cancer. Memorial Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 28, 2002, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by Rev. John Gossman. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Survivors include her husband, Jim of Marion; her children, Brian Glawe of Marion, Kimberly Kacena and husband Richard of Swisher, Shawn Glawe of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin and Stephanie Bender of Marion; her mother, Mary Cooley of Wauzeka, Wisconsin; six brothers, Cletus Cooley (Pat) of McGregor, Robert Cooley (Marilyn) of Milton, Wisconsin, Thomas Cooley (Sherie) of Bridgeport, Wisconsin, Joseph Cooley of Vancouver, Oregon, Jerry Cooley of Wauzeka, Wisconsin and Vince Cooley (Jodie) of Philipsburg, Pennsylvania; her grandmother, Viola Zenz of Lancaster, Wisconsin; her mother-in-law, Imogene Bender of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren, Becca, Megan, and Dylan Kacena; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Cecil and her father-in-law, Earl.
Lynda was born at home June 12, 1947, in North Andover, Wisconsin, the daughter of Cecil and Mary (Zenz) Cooley. She married James E. Bender on January 14, 1978, in Cedar Rapids. Lynda and Jim owned and operated Bender Trucking for 20 years. She most recently worked as a receptionist for PCI. Lynda enjoyed crocheting, bowling, traveling and being a mom and grandma.
