Lucille F. (Harris) Walter, 88, a resident of the Hiawatha Care Center, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at the care center. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2015, at All Saints Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by Father John Flaherty. The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 17, 2015, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Rhonda (Eldon) Arnold Aurora, Diane (Kenver) Scott of Marion, Patricia (Paul) Luloff of Burlington, and David (Jean Ann) Walter of Center Point; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a brother, Tom Harris of Iowa City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; her son, Robert Jr.; a great-granddaughter, Megan; and nine siblings.
Lucille was born October 21, 1926, the daughter of John and Mary Jane (VanDee) Harris in Deep River. On November 13, 1943, she married Robert John Walter in Parnell. Lucille worked at Rockwell Collins until her retirement. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids.
Lucille liked to play cards, work puzzles and crochet. She enjoyed shopping and keeping track of her family.
