Lowell A. Lain, 68, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died following a sudden illness Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at St. Luke’s, Cedar Rapids. Service: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his children, John (Faith) Lain and Laura (Brian) Prull; granddaughter, Samantha Lain; and brother, Loran H. Lain Jr.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Kai.
Lowell was born on February 5, 1948, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, son of Loran and Evelyn (Melsha) Lain Sr. He married Kai Pon on November 17, 1970 in Cedar Rapids. Lowell served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked at Universal from 1974-1993 and later at Iowa Manufacturing from 1993-2001. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
