Lorraine J. Prastka, 85, of 4425 Westchester Dr. NE, died Sunday, August 13, 2006, at Living Center West, Cedar Rapids, following a long illness. Services: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2006, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 15, 2006, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 63 years, George; a son, Mark Prastka of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Patti Morehouse of Cedar Rapids; a granddaughter, Stephanie (Don) Pinter of Muscatine; one stepgrandson, Richard (Tonya) Morehouse of Marion; a great-grandson, Neal Pinter; a sister, Maxine Wagner of Cedar Rapids; two nephews, David (Karolyn) Wagner of Cedar Rapids and Bill (Joan) Prastka of Washington; and two nieces, Donna (Dave) Walderbach of Marion and Susan (Peter) Schaeffer of California.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Gary Morehouse; a brother-in-law, Donald "Red? Wagner; and a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Maxine Prastka.
Lorraine was born December 25, 1920, the daughter of Allen and Martha (Fleming) Bliss, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. On October 24, 1943, she was united in marriage to George Prastka. Lorraine worked at United Fire & Casualty, retiring in 1986. She was a lifelong member of the Salem United Methodist Church.
