Lorraine Peake, 87, of Center Point, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at the Vinton Lutheran Home, Vinton, Iowa. There will be no service or memorial per her request. Those who knew and loved her will understand her private ways and honor this request. Arrangements made by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point.
Lorraine was born on March 11, 1930, in Waukon, Iowa, daughter of Elmer and Ruth (Sherman) Hansmeier. On March 18, 1950, Lorraine was united in marriage to Charlie Peake in Elkader, Iowa. Lorraine and Charlie had a nomadic tendency and lived in various places in Iowa and Arkansas. She proudly worked at the Delaware County Home in Delhi, drove school bus for Maquoketa Valley School District among other domestic chores as well as being a housewife and helper to Charlie in the Repair shop in Delhi.
Survivors include her sister, Marilyn Perin; sisters-in-law, Jean (Thomas) Hansmeier and Marcella (Gordon) Hansmeier; daughters, Ruth Ellen Peake-Beisker, Rosanne (Charlie) Downs, Richard Elmer Peake and Robert Peake; six grandsons, Nathan (Amanda) Downs, Eric (Shelley) Downs, Timothy Peake, Jason Peake, Jeff (Karen) Beisker, Craig (Michelle) Beisker; and one granddaughter, Wende (Shane) Taylor. Lorraine also has nine great-grandchildren, Rhylie Kay Downs and Ethan James Downs, Bryce Beisker, Bryan Beisker, Alyssa Beisker, Erik Beisker, Taylor Friehl, Makenna Friehl and Macy Friehl.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Rae Peake; her parents; brothers, Gordon and Thomas; sister, Mary Jo Seaba; daughter-in-law, Debra Peake; and son-in-law, Larry Beisker.
