Lorraine C. Mahoney

Lorraine C. Mahoney, 83, of 1417 3rd Ave. SE, Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, October 30, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, after a good life. Services: 10 a.m. Monday, November 3, 2003, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Mark Osterhaus. Friends may call from 3 - 7 p.m. Sunday (Nov. 2) at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, where a rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. Graveside services: 1:30 p.m. Monday at Calvary Cemetery, Ryan.
Survivors include a sister, Generose (Don) Porteous of Urbandale, Iowa; a brother, Richard (Rosalind) Mahoney of Orland Park, Illinois; a brother-in-law, Calvin Phillips; sisters-in-law, Eunice Mahoney, Rosemary Mahoney and Marge Mahoney; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends that knew her as "Aunt Lorraine?.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, William, Dorrance, Jim and LaVerne Mahoney; sisters, Huberta Donlan and Colista Phillips; and several other loving relatives.
Lorraine was born the daughter of Jerry E. and Mae V. (Sullivan) Mahoney on July 27, 1920, in Delaware County, Iowa. She attended St. John?s School in Ryan. Lorraine was employed at Collins Radio for forty-one years. She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church.
Lorraine had a great sense of humor. She was everybody?s "Aunt Lorraine?.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Lorraine.
