Lorraine H. Hoover, 84, of 1244 21st Avenue S.W., Cedar Rapids, died Friday morning, October 8, 2004, in St. Luke?s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a long illness. Services: 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 11, 2004, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Gary Sneller. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, October 10, 2004, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Survivors include her husband, Clarence; her children, Roger (JoAnn) Sutton of Lyndon, Illinois, Joyce Cain of Des Moines and Danny (Joanie) Wolverton of Deltona, Florida; ten grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a cousin, Ida Mae Caldwell of Marion; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and special friend, Alta Sutton.
Lorraine was born March 10, 1920, the daughter of Charles and Claire Manweller, in Maquoketa, Iowa. On January 8, 1955, she married Clarence Hoover in Anamosa, Iowa. Lorraine worked in sales for Newman?s Shoes, was an inspector at Century Engineering and owner of Quality Hatters. She was a member of Cedar Christian Church, Cedar Rapids.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Lorraine.
