Lori Ellen Taylor, 51, of 1081 74th St. N.E., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died peacefully in her sleep on Monday, April 7, 2008, in Chicago, Illinois, where she worked. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2008, at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. Linda Livingston. The family will greet friends from 4 - 8 p.m., Friday, April 11, 2008 Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church. Burial: Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello, Iowa.
Survivors include her mother, Donna Summers of Hiawatha; two sons, Derek (Kristin) Taylor of Alburnett and Noah Taylor of Salt Lake City, Utah; a daughter, Hannah Walton of Cedar Rapids; her fiancé, Ravi Advani of Tiffin; a sister, Marla Allison of Hiawatha; 3 grandchildren, Braydon, Brooklynn, and Audree Taylor; and many close friends including Christina Miller of Cedar Rapids.
Lori was born November 20, 1956, in Iowa City, Iowa. She graduated from Monticello High School in 1975 and attended Hamilton Business College. She worked as a ticket agent for TWA/American Airlines for over 20 years. Lori enjoyed traveling, dancing, wine, and flowers. She was very devoted to her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Lori’s name.
