Loren E. Martin

Loren E. Martin, 79, of Alburnett, Iowa, passed away in his home with his wife and family by his side on Thursday, November 8, 2018. Per his wishes, no services or visitation will be held.
Loren was born October 28, 1939, the son of Calvin and Mable (Fenlon) Martin. He graduated from Alburnett High School in 1958. He spent his career working as a dental technician. In 1992, he opened Cedar Rapids Dental Lab with his wife, Shirley. Loren loved to be around young people, enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, holidays, coaching baseball, Pepsi, and attending family sporting events.
Loren married his wife, Shirley Wright, in 1959 at the Methodist Church in Spickard, Missouri on the way to Lake of the Ozarks. They celebrated their 59th anniversary on June 16, 2018.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Martin of Alburnett; son, Rick (Kim) Martin of Storm Lake; son, David (Audrey) Martin of Alburnett; daughter, Trudee Brendes of Alburnett; and nine grandchildren, Nichole (Jeff), Mitchell, Michael, and Megan Martin of Storm Lake, Cory, Cody, Zach Martin, Chris and Carissa Nutting, all of Alburnett, and Natilee and Lauren Brendes of Marion.
