Loren L. Johnson, 93, of 5289 Blue Creek Road, Walker, died Saturday, September 16, 2006, in his home following a battle with cancer. Services: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 19, 2006, at First Christian Church, Center Point, by the Rev. John Caughron. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, September 18, 2006, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point. Burial: Center Point Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Emny; his daughters, Mary Dolores (William) Vozenilek and Linda Ann (Marvin) McArthur both of Walker; a son Marvin Loren (Karen) Johnson also of Walker; ten grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a sister, Bernice Appleby of Vinton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Ross Johnson.
Loren was born October 16, 1912, in Benton County, the son of Jess and Mae (Garwood) Johnson. On October 15, 1938, he was united in marriage to Emny Kilell in Newton. He spent his life farming.
Loren was a member of the Walker Lion?s Club, a deacon at First Christian Church in Center Point and a 4-H Leader. He loved to bail hay and drive machinery. Loren enjoyed weaving rugs on his loom, gardening, fishing, watching westerns and reading books. He loved his cats and dog.
