Loras John Wulfekuhle
July 25, 1954 — August 19, 2020
Loras Wulfekuhle, 66, of Edgewood, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, August 19th, 2020. Visitation will be held from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, September 5, 2020, at the Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Earlville, Iowa. A private family funeral will be held with burial at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Earlville. All guests are respectfully requested to wear a face mask and practice social distancing.
Loras was born July 25, 1954, in Manchester, Iowa, the son of Linus and Ruth Wulfekuhle. He learned the car maintenance trade while in High School working at Wallace’s Car Dealer in Manchester. Loras continued to work there for many years after graduation. In 1990, he started work at Welterlen Motors in Edgewood and was planning to retire at the end of August.
Loras was a quiet, care free kind of guy who always greeted you with a smile. He enjoyed time with his family especially his nieces and nephews. You would find Loras playing with and teasing his great nieces and nephews. To the younger cousins he was the “Tickle Monster”. Loras was an avid car racing fan, following his favorite driver Mark Schulte 27m. On Sunday’s, you would find him cruising his normal route going by places of meaning to him. Loras liked his drive around town in the early mornings before work.
Loras wasn’t one to worry about things. A saying you would hear frequently was “Don’t worry about it”.
So he doesn’t want us to worry about what could have been. Not to take life too seriously, enjoy the time you have and to care for one another.
Loras is survived by his brother, Charlie (Susan) Wulfekuhle of Isanti , Minnesota; two sisters, Agnes Wulfekuhle and Helen (Don) Fortmann of Dyersville; two nieces, Jenny (Clay) Erickson and Amy Wulfekuhle; three nephews, Corey Fortmann, Chad (Melissa) Fortmann and Adam (Ally) Fortmann; three great nephews, Isaiah Erickson, Anthony and Andrew Fortmann; and three great nieces, Ella and Jovie Fortmann, and Bella Erickson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Linus and Ruth Wulfekuhle; and two infant sisters, Mary and Ann.
