Lola B. McKinley, 87, of Walker, died, Sunday, October 19, 2003, at East Towne Care Center, Independence, Iowa, of a long illness. Services: 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 23, 2003, at Walker United Methodist Church, Walker, by Rev. David Siler. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, October 22, 2003, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Walker. Burial: Walker Cemetery, Walker.
Survivors include her children, Gary "Fred? McKinley and wife Shelley of Coral Springs, Florida, Michael McKinley and wife Jean of Sherrills Ford, North Carolina, Janet Hilmer and husband Dale, Cheryl Elsbernd and husband Dan, and Tony McKinley and wife Mandy, all of Walker; 14 grandchildren, Gary McKinley, Dawn Southwick, Erica McKinley, Tim, Todd and Rod Dudley, Shawn Elsbernd, Kim Heckart, Jodi Wooten, Ryan, Chris, Cliff, Cody and Maggie McKinley; 18 great-grandchildren, Zach Southwick, Joe, Jake, Luke, Jeremy, Nicole and Natalie Dudley; Courtney and Cory Elsbernd, Danielle and Gary Heckart, Ben, Molly, and Natalie Wooten, Colby and Katelyn McKinley, Heather and Haley Dudley; her brothers and sisters, Leonard LeVelle of Vinton, Della Walthart of Independence, Dorothy LeVelle of Ava, Missouri, June Miller and husband Ben of Vinton, and Bill LeVelle and wife Judy of Ava, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Heiserman and a brother-in-law, Bernard McKinley and wife Dorothy of Waterloo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 2 brothers, Marvin and Marion LeVelle.
Lola was born March 26, 1916, in Schley, Iowa, the daughter of Franklin and Irene Haymaker LeVelle. She married Clifford H. McKinley on August 2, 1938, in Independence, Iowa. He died on June 24, 2001. Lola was a member of the Walker United Methodist Church and Spencer?s Grove Club. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, crossword puzzles, cooking and being a homemaker. Lola was the greatest mom and grandmother in the world. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
