Lois Lillian Wegner, 80, of Cedar Rapids, died following a short illness on Sunday, August 23, 2015, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Service: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 29, 2015, at Hus Memorial Presbyterian Church, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. Mel Ramos.Visitation: 4-8 p.m., Friday August 28, 2015, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial: at a later date
Survivors include her husband, Ron Wegner, of Cedar Rapids; sons, Wes (Maryellen) Durow, of Lucas, Texas, Doug Wegner, of Marion, Dennis Wegner, of Denver, Colorado; brother, Jerold (Dritha) McCoy, of Tucson, Arizona; grandchildren, Chandler, Grant, and Harrison Durow, all of Lucas, Texas, Hanna and Jacob Wegner, of Marion; brother in-law, Dennis (Jane) Wegner, of Delhi; nieces and nephews, Alex, Anna, and Tess Wegner, Greg, Phillip ,Matt (Michelle) and Rhea McCoy.
Lois was preceded in death by her father, Buel McCoy and mother, Olive (Martin) McCoy Alberhasky; grandparents, Lois and Joseph Martin; nephew, Mark McCoy; in-laws, John and Ruth Wegner.
Lois was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on August 27, 1934, daughter of Buel and Olive (Martin) McCoy. She married Ron Wegner on May 25, 1973. Lois worked at Allis- Chalmers, Harnischfeger and Kirkwood. She retired as a secretary from Kirkwood in 1996. The love of family and friends were foremost in her life. Lois was a member of the D.A.R. She also enjoyed playing the piano, singing, dancing and spending time with her grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to either the Diabetes or Heart Association.
