Lois Ann (Siemering) Sconyers, 79, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, February 16, 2016, in her home surrounded by her family following a long and courageous battle with cancer. The family will greet friends from 8:30 am to 10 am Saturday, February 20, 2016, with services immediately following at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Pastor Robin Tyner. Entombment: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Lois was born January 31, 1937, the daughter of August R. and Enid V. (Yanda) Siemering in Cedar Rapids. Lois was employed by Rockwell Collins, retiring after 35 years in 1992.
Lois married Junior Sconyers on December 28, 1978, Las Vegas, Nevada. They enjoyed their houseboat (always full of children and friends) along the Mississippi River. Lois’ greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also recently inducted into the fraternal order of Eagles.
Survivors include her children, Pam Staub, of Washougal, Washington, Jeryl Lynn (Bob) Burns, of Urbana, Iowa, Jackie Sumner, Randy Sconyers, and Mike Sumner, all of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; ten grandchildren; Jasmine Iuta, Stephanie Sconyers, Ryan Sconyers, TJ Burns, Joseph Staub, Daniel (Robin) Hobson, Jesse Staub, Tiffany (Eric) Kula, Jacob Hobson, and Jessi (Orlando) Gomez; and ten great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Albert (Anna) Siemering, sister-in-law, Patricia (Mike) Lathrop of Onslow, Iowa; brother-in-law, Doug (Sheri) Moylan of Swisher, Iowa; many loving nieces and nephews; special friend Marie Addams of Illinois, many loving neighbors, and her best friend forever, Judy (Powell) Martin of Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Amy Sconyers, Jr; her parents; two brothers, Kenny and Don Siemering, two nephews; and first husband, Gerald (Jake) Sumner; and many beloved in-laws.
