Lois M. Robbins, 74, of 1290 11th Avenue, died Saturday, May 22, 2004, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, following a sudden illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2004, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by Rev. Traverce Harrison. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Jerry Robbins and wife MaryAnn of Amana, Jan Arp of Marion and Jim Robbins of Marion; five grandchildren, Scott, Colby, Jeremy, J.D. and Caryn; twelve great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews, including a niece, Robin McDonald of Choctaw, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a half-brother, Bob.
Lois was born July 28, 1929, the daughter of Walter and Esther (Miller) Erwin in Cedar Rapids. She graduated from Franklin High School in 1948. On August 20, 1948, she married Henry "Hank? Robbins in Marion. He died August 8, 1988. Lois was a member of Marion Christian Church, El Kahir Shrine Ladies Auxiliary, a very active member of American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 298 of Marion, where she was past president, and had volunteered at the Abbe Center in the past.
