Lois A. Kammerman, 76, of Manchester, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Monday morning, March 1, 2004 at the Edgewood Convalescent Home, Edgewood, Iowa.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 4, 2004 at St. Jude?s Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Manchester where the Rosary will be recited at 5:00 p.m. Friends may also call after 10:30 a.m. at church the day of services. Burial will be in St. Joseph?s Catholic Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Lois was born on May 18, 1927, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Francis J. & Genevieve (Flanagan) Little. She graduated in 1945 from St. Patrick?s Catholic High School, Cedar Rapids. Lois then attended Mt. Mercy College in Cedar Rapids. On October 7, 1950, she was united in marriage to Louis G. Kammerman in Cedar Rapids. The couple lived in Clinton, Boone and Cedar Rapids. Lois worked at Dysart?s Candy, Kresge Department Store, Manpower, Duane Arnold Nuclear Energy Center, CRST and Rockwell Collins. Louis passed away in 1978. Lois moved to Plant City, FL in 1989 before returning to Manchester in 1999.
Lois was a charter member of St. Jude?s Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids and a current member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Manchester.
Lois? family includes two daughters, Mary Ellen (Denny) Fritz of Bettendorf, and Carol (Rick) Martens of Manchester; five grandchildren; a brother, F. James (Rachel) Little of Bend, OR; a sister, Mary V. (H.R. "Dick?) Taylor of Plano, TX; and a sister-in-law, Helen Little of Ely.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis J. & Genevieve Little; husband, Louis G. Kammerman; and one brother, Merle J. Little.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Lois? memory.
