Lois M. Clancy, 69, of Evergreen Estates II, died Wednesday, July 6, 2005, at the care center, following a long illness. Memorial Mass: 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2005, at St. Jude?s Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Donald Czapla. Arrangements with Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, a son, Brian Clancy of Plano, Texas and a daughter, Renee Clancy of Paris, France; a sister, Donna Mae Long of Melbourne, Florida; four brothers, Kenneth Lampe, Donald Lampe and Francis Lampe, all of Cedar Rapids and Daryle Lampe of Hiawatha; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Helen Walsh and Mary Ann Lampe.
Lois was born August 8, 1935, the daughter of Henry Killian and Marie Helen (Wilhelmi) Lampe, in Bancroft, Iowa. On June 4, 1966, she was united in marriage to John Clancy in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. John died November 19, 1989. In 1955, Lois moved from Bancroft to Cedar Rapids, where she worked for Iowa Manufacturing Company until 1969. She began to work for St. Jude?s School in 1979 doing secretarial and clerical work. She worked there for 23 years before retiring in 2002.
Lois?s greatest joys were playing Bingo and watching the Iowa Hawkeyes. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and having lunch with friends at various restaurants. Lois was very devoted to her children and her many friends.
The family wishes to express their gratitude and heart filled thanks to all the staff at Evergreen Estates II for the care and comfort they gave to her.
