Lois A. Bean, 66 of Yutan, Nebraska, formerly of Traer, Iowa, died Saturday, December 16, 2006, at Lakeside Hospital, Omaha, Nebraska, following a sudden illness. Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 21, 2006, at Historic Church of St. Peters, Mendota Heights, Minnesota, where friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until service time. The family will greet friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2006, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial: St. Peters Catholic Cemetery, Mendota Heights, Minnesota.
Survivors include her son, Jay (Melanie) Bean of Yutan, Nebraska; three grandchildren, Jaymz, Joseph and Elizabeth Bean; her stepsons, and their families, Casey Bean, Kevin Bean, Buck Bean and Karlin Bean, all of St. Paul, Minnesota area; two brothers, Richard and Lawrence LeMay; and two sisters, Lorraine Carter and Lucille Amell, all of the St. Paul area.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Merlin.
Lois was born April 14, 1940, the daughter of Alphy and Agnes (Roeller) LeMay in Mendota Heights, Minnesota. She attended country school through the eighth grade and graduated from Sibley High School in Mendota Heights, Minnesota. On June 20, 1970, she married Merlin C. Bean. They lived at Traer, Iowa, where she was a homemaker. After Merlin?s death in 2003, Lois worked at Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer. In July of 2005, Lois moved to Yutan, Nebraska, to be near her son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren. While living in Yutan, she was active with the Yutan Library Board.
