Lois L. Bahn, 93, formerly of Marion, most recently of Palos Heights, Illinois, died Sunday, July 15, 2007, at Palos Community Hospital in Palos Heights. Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 21, 2007 at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, by Rev. Del Bear. Private Inurnment: Alice Cemetery, Center Point, at a later date.
Survivors include her son, George (Meredith) Whitney; three grandchildren, Patrice Flentge, Janice Dondlinger, and Denise Whitney; seven great grandchildren, David, Christen, Jaclyn, Lauren, Danielle, Jenna, and Breanne; and a great-great granddaughter, Gionna.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Guy Whitney and Berdoin Bahn; three brothers, Arnold, Harold, and her twin, Louis Hand; and a sister, Elma Novak.
Lois was born on February 25, 1914, the daughter of Edward “E.E.” and Laura (Minor) Hand, in rural Center Point. Lois was a seamstress & tailor for Sears & Roebuck in Orland Park, IL, for many years until her retirement in 1981. She also worked for many years at a friend's bridal shop.
Lois was Past Matron of Order of the Eastern Star Sunset Chapter #49 of Chicago, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor's choice in Lois' memory.
