Logan Scott McVey, 16, of Alburnett, died Wednesday, March 1, 2006. Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, March 9, 2006, at First Assembly of God in Cedar Rapids by the Reverend Rick Gail and the Reverend Les Larson. The family requests that guests dress casually, as Logan would. The family will greet friends from 4 - 8 p.m. Wednesday (March 8) at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. Burial will be at Lafayette Cemetery in rural Alburnett, immediately followed by a time of fellowship to be held in the Alburnett High School gymnasium.
Survivors include his parents, Randy and Diane McVey and his brother, Trent, of Alburnett; grandparents, Bill and Blanche McVey of Marion and Norman and Carol Fisher of Troy Mills; aunts and uncles, Bill, Teri, Richard and Elizabeth and John and Barb; and cousins, Trisha, Stacey, Jordan, Morgan, Emmy, Josh, Mollie, Stephanie and Samantha.
Logan was born January 7, 1990, in Cedar Rapids, to Randy and Diane (Fisher) McVey. He was a sophomore at Alburnett High School, where he was active in sports. Logan was an avid X-Box player and loved to play "kick the can? with his buddies at school. He enjoyed his dog, Riggs. Logan loved scrapping with his younger brother, Trent, and loved movies. He was a huge Steelers fan and you could always count him in on a poker game.
Logan was a kind-hearted giant of a kid who was loved by everyone. He will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that balloon bouquets be sent, and memorials directed to the Alburnett Community School District Foundation for the Martin Athletic Complex in Logan?s memory.
