Lisa M. McNeill, 82, a resident of the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home, Cedar Falls and formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday afternoon, March 24, 2005, in Sartori Memorial Hospital Cedar Falls, following a long illness. Memorial Services: 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2005, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Del Bear. The family will greet friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time on Monday. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Survivors include her children, Dieter (Uschi) Kuntze of Berlin, Germany, Herbert (Dilyn) McNeill of Vinton, Iowa, Shirley (Errol) Lindsey of Hiawatha, Iowa, Deborah McNeill of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Jamie (Craig Aswegan) Grommon of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Jaryn, Justin and Jennifer McNeill, Ryan and Kelly Lindsey, Larry "JR? Wolfe and Matt Aswegan; and two great-grandchildren, Kelsey Lee-Wolfe and Austyn Lee.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; and three brothers.
Born June 28, 1922, in Berlin, Germany, the daughter of Walter F. and Martha Kliemann Schlueter, she married James F. McNeill on August 7, 1948, in Heidelberg, Germany. He died January 17, 1998. Lisa was a longtime Cedar Rapids resident. For twenty years, she worked in food service with St. Luke?s Hospital and Coe College, until she retired in 1989.
