Linda Norton, 87, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Saturday, October 14, 2023. A visitation will be held from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.
Linda was born April 3, 1936, in Fayette, Iowa, the daughter of Miles and Esther (Rich) Ames. She graduated from Ossian High School. Linda was united in marriage to Raymond W. Stoll, Jr. on July 1, 1956, in Cedar Rapids; he passed away in 1965. She later married Raymond Norton on December 31, 1965, in Cedar Rapids; he passed away in 1999. Linda worked for Kennedy High School, Souvenir, Inc, and the Spring House restaurant. She loved playing card games, dominoes, and listening to polka music.
Survivors include her children, Doyle Stoll (Mary Beth Engfer) of South Saint Paul, Minnesota, and Jackie (John) Peters of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, Nyssa Stoll, Kyle Stoll, Sam Sevlie, and Kelsey Kiwala (Ryan Brown); close friend, Carol “Legs” Weger of Cedar Rapids; and stepsister-in-law, Arlene Stendel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Miles and Esther Ames; husbands, Raymond Stoll, Jr. and Raymond Norton; a sister in infancy, Doris Mae Ames; and stepbrother, Earl Stendel.
Memorials may be directed to St. Croix Hospice.
