Linda Sue “Suzie” (High) Curtis, 76, of Cedar Rapids, IA, passed away peacefully in her home on March 10, 2022. She was cared for and surrounded by loved ones through her long battle with cancer. Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. A Funeral Service will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Linda Sue High was born on December 6, 1945, in Cedar Rapids to Paul High and Doris Ruth Currier. She attended Franklin School. Linda spent life as a loving sister, wife, and a mother, raising her five children. She worked as a machinist for D.W. Products for over 30 years, until retirement. Linda was a member of the Moose Lodge. Her most cherished times were spent with family during gatherings and holidays, especially Christmas. She also enjoyed gardening, baking holiday treats, crocheting, sewing, traveling, listening to country music, and Elvis.
Linda is survived by her children, Jodie (Tammi) Curtis-Janey, Robert (Loretta) Curtis, Mark (Shannonh) Curtis, Dotie (Jonny) Wirth, Dustie (Gary) Frimml, all from Cedar Rapids; step-son, Derrick (Debra) Curtis from Michigan; siblings, Jackie (Russell) Lewis, Darla (Chuck) Gunderson, and Gary High; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Sandy Chamberlin and Lori High; and grandson, Justin Curtis.
Memorials may be given to Toys for Tots or The Giving Trees for Seniors at Kirkwood Estates.
