Lillie Belle Wyldes, 69, of 616 16th Street S.E., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Friday, January 5, 2007, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a short illness. Services: 2:00 p.m., Monday January 8, 2007, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Pastor Clarence Schaffner. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Burial: Linwood Cemetery.
Survivors include her children, Donnie Wyldes of Iowa, Kenneth Wyldes of Arizona, Karen (Ron) Dawes of Cedar Rapids, Howie Wyldes of Cedar Rapids and Valorie Wyldes of Lisbon; seven grandchildren, Abdul, Christopher, Kenneth Jr., Vanessa, Chad, Fatema and Collin; and three great-grandchildren, Kara, Gabrella and Joshua. Also surviving are her brothers, Pastor Clarence (Mary Margaret) Schaffner of Rockport, Missouri and Bob (Mary) Schaffner of Seymour, Iowa; a sister, Letha (Ronald) Lawson of Moulton, Iowa; a son-in-law, Riad Jammal of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Louis, Horace and Bill.
Lillie Belle was born November 15, 1937, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Louis and Letha (Whitlock) Schaffner. She graduated with honors in 1955 from Moravia High School.
Lillie Belle enjoyed taking care of her family, sewing, gardening, knitting, crocheting and was a fabulous cook.
