Lillian Marie Loomis

Lillian Marie Loomis, 87, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Sunday, August 22, 2021, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 27, 2021, in the Overlooks section of Linwood Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, assisted the family with arrangements.
Lillian was born December 18, 1933, in New Albin, Iowa, to Edwin and Mary “Colletta” (Glaser) Meyer. She was united in marriage to Ernest Loomis on September 12, 1953, in New Albin. To this union, four children were born.
Lillian had previously worked for Turner Microphone for fourteen years, and later worked side-by-side with her husband at Iowa Glass. Lillian enjoyed gardening, embroidery, and spending time with her husband and family.
She is survived by her children, Robert “Bob” (Denise) Loomis of Knapp, Wisconsin, Gloria “Babe” (Marty) Myers, and Jerry (Joyce) Loomis, all of Cedar Rapids; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and brother, Ralph (Jane) Meyer of New Albin.
Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest; daughter, Gayle Szyperski; and sisters, Lois Duffy and Lorrayne Davis.
